Cross The Sky is a theatre company run by the Barnsley Civic who specialise in helping adults with special needs and learning difficulties take part in songs, original plays and concerts. Dan joined the group as a volunteer musician shortly after graduating uni in 2018.
Lead by Simon Grainger, Becky Newbould and Cathy Smart, the group takes place every Wednesday 10am-3pm (usually at the Cooper Art Gallery, Barnsley). Dan's role in the company involves playing classical guitar, making sure everybody is safe, writing songs, setting up equipment and helping out with vocal warm ups.
In 2019, the group were filmed by the BBC performing Kylie Minogue's songs at the Barnsley Civic to feature in her show, "Kylie's Secret Night". Little did anybody know they'd be paid a visit by the pop princess herself!
